Golden Dots

I just learned that my former campaign, John Hall for Congress, won a Golden Dot award for best political blog in 2006.

As the JH4C Tech Director, I wish I could take credit for that. But in fact, the award really goes to Take19, the hard-hitting grassroots group that constantly blogged about Sue Kelly’s weaknesses and mistakes. It was an exemplary attack blog, and it deserves the recognition.

But it turns out I didn’t come away from Golden Dots empty-handed. Two animations that I wrote both got nominated — Store Wars and Arnold’s Neighborhood — and Store Wars actually won. I’m not sure how an apolitical pitch for organic food won an award given out by the “Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet,” but don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, right?

Check out the Golden Dot winners and the nominations.
